Guy Going One Month Only Talking To People Through Facebook And Twitter

ABC - As @SilentClark, Clark Harris is communicating solely through social media channels during the month of May to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Harris started the experiment as a tribute to his mother, Ruth Harris, whose 10-year battle with cancer ended last February. Thinking back to a more traditional fundraising campaign he participated in in 2006, Team in Training Century Ride, Harris began “looking for a bigger challenge to accomplish in her memory.” How could a cause campaign in today’s social media-enabled world compare to a primarily direct mail campaign from only a few years ago? Soon the concept of SilentClark was born. “What better challenge for a guy who never shuts up than to not talk for a month?” Clark can communicate on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube(), Flickr(), LinkedIn() and Google Chat; e-mail, talking, writing, text messaging, and sign language are not allowed — not with friends, not with colleagues, not even with Harris’s wife.

Welcome to my world SilentClark. I do this shit basically every day of my life. Difference is I don’t walk around like a pussy bitch “look at me look at me! I only talk through social media!” Grow up you attention whore. You only talk to people online? Big fuckin deal dude join the entire world. Tweet all day? Yea pal you’re one of a kind there’s only 30 million other people doing that. Oh and you’re such a hero! You haven’t talked to your wife in 12 days. You know what 99% of married men across the country would call that? Living the dream, my man. Living the f’n dream.

Sometimes I plan my entire night around the internet. People ask me, hey Jon, what are you doing tonite? You know, the usual, grab some beers, hop on facebook chat for a while. Find some local smokes. Hit up some chat rooms, a/s/l style. And you don’t see me trying to get credit for raising money for cancer. You flashy son of a bitch. I’m in it for the love of the chat.
