SEATTLE — A Washington state man fed up with a group of noisy moviegoers behind him stepped over the seat and punched a 10-year-old boy in the face. The man, who told police he thought the person he hit was a grown man, was watching “Titanic” in 3-D with his girlfriend and had asked the people sitting behind to quiet down and stop throwing popcorn, but they laughed at him, he said. “I got so mad that it just happened,” Yong Hyun Kim, 21, told police who arrested him the night of April 11 at the AMC Kent Station 14, in Kent, a south Seattle suburb. The 10-year-old lost a tooth and had a bloody nose in the confrontation. The boy said they were watching the movie and talking when Kim told them to be quiet. They quieted down, but the boys says when he whispered something, Kim jumped over the seat, threw an iced drink at them and punched the boy in the face. Kim told police the boys’ behavior was worse than talking. He says they were hitting him and his girlfriend with popcorn, running back and forth in the aisle and bumping him with their arms.
First of all this 10 year old can cut the shit. No chance he quieted down at any point during this debacle until he got his face caved in. So cry me a river kid because I don’t care if you’re 1 or 100, if you can’t shut up at the movies you deserve to get your nose broke. Like I don’t throw around the word hero too often around here, but that is exactly what Yong Hyn Kim is. Just standing up for the little people. I mean put yourself in his shoes. Guy is stuck at Titanic 3-D with his girlfriend and some brat kids are running around causing a scene behind him. The easy thing would have been to just sit there quietly or leave. But no. Not Yong Hyn Kim. That’s not his style. He was not about let Dicaprio get disrespected like this. So he stood up. He said he had enough and he knocked a 10 year old the fuck out. Free Yong Hyn Kim! Free Yong Hyn Kim!
#2 - How insane do you have to be pay like 22 bucks to see Titanic in 3D? That was this kid’s first mistake. Anyone over 20 years old seeing Titanic 3D in theaters is a straight up lunatic. Like you’ve obviously seen it before dude. Everyone’s seen Titanic. Literally everyone. Did you think the ending was going to be different this time? That they’d pull hard enough port and narrowly avoid the iceberg and have a good laugh about it then Jack would go on to runaway with Rose and paint her tits naked and bang her in backseats for the rest of their lives? Nope spoiler alert. Shit still sinks. It’s just more expensive to watch now.
However as nutso as I think Yong Hyun Kim is that’s not to say I’m not 100% on his side here. I mean loud kids in movie theaters fucking suck. Got to do what you got to do. Slap them in the face and knock all their teeth out if you have to. Maybe next time they’ll touch their dentures and realize they shouldn’t be yapping about Susie in homeroom while the old bag is dropping the Heart of the Ocean in the Atlantic and I’m trying not to cry my eyes out.
